- Make sure each MouseKeeper child will have a stuffed mouse ready to arrive on Thanksgiving morn.
- Assist the child(ren) with their selection of smelly cheese.
- On Thanksgiving Eve, help the child(ren) place the cheese on the hearth or near an open window so the cheesy goodness can waft up to Santa’s sleigh when he takes the sleigh out for its test drive on Thanksgiving Eve. That’s how he gets to the Thanksgiving Day Christmas Parades BTW. Place the child(ren)’s Santa wish List letter under the plate of cheese.
- On Thanksgiving night, after the child(ren) go to bed, check to make sure the letter(s) found a strong enough draft to make it into Santa’s sleigh on Thanksgiving night. The children might want to use the enclosed piece of stationery to write that letter to Santa.
- Please nibble at the cheese and hide the mice or leave them near the cheese plate. Drape the provided parachute somewhere convincing.

- Help the children remember to play hide and seek with their mouse many times a day.
- Help the children remember to take their mouse to bed with them.
- Help the mice remember to get up in the middle of the night to feed. Who knows where the children will discover them in the morning. Usually they’ll hide in the fridge or a cookie jar but sometimes they get sneaky with their hiding places.
- Help the mice and their MouseKeepers dress in matching scarves and mittens and hats. They both love that.
- Before Christmas Eve, explain to the child(ren) that on Christmas Eve, Santa will take the mice back to the North Pole because the elves miss them so much.
